Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actor, is well-known for her work in film and television in the latter half of the 1980s. Bassett has been awarded a variety of honors, such as the Golden Globe Award, and sixteen NAACP Image Award. In the TV and film industry, she is known for her nominations and awards. Bassett was raised in New York New York and raised by an aunt who lived in Winston-Salem North Carolina. As Bassett was around five, she and her sister moved from the city of St. Petersburg, Florida where they lived with their mother, who was been divorced from her father. Bassett was inspired to become an actress after she saw the stage play Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. She went to Yale University New Haven Connecticut receiving a bachelor's degree (1980) in African American studies and a master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. She met Courtney B. Vance, an actress who was also at Yale and they married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. In African-American Studies, 1981. Graduate in Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett has been cast in one the leading roles of Ramonda in the action-adventure film, i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
